Evaluation of ASPIRE effects

In addition to developing the ASPIRE model and toolkit, work package five also enabled partners to review the initial impacts within each Sustainable Energy Community of the ASPIRE approach and to evaluate both the initial and future longer-term impacts. The evaluation not only focused on the environmental impacts of increasing energy sustainability, but also on the wider social and economic benefits, such as increased job creation and safeguarding of jobs, reduced energy bills and the community-level benefits of local energy financing structures such as Energy Services Companies.
