WP3: Capacity Building & Community Awareness

Activities carried out within WP3 enabled each Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) to engage with and educate stakeholders across each community. The focus of these activities was on community engagement, informing residents of the economic, social and environmental opportunities represented by renewable energy schemes within the community as well as increasing awareness of the importance of the rational use of energy. Planners and developers were also targeted to increase their understanding of the opportunities to incorporate sustainable energy technologies into new developments and regeneration schemes.

This Work Package links closely with Work Package 4 as the development and delivery of Sustainable Energy Action Plans requires significant support and input from the local community and a wide range of stakeholders.
